10-25-22 (Daytona Beach, FL) — Daniel Dye Racing joined GMS Racing at Daytona International Speedway this afternoon to announce that Daniel will compete full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series next season behind the wheel of a GMS Racing Chevrolet Silverado. GMS Racing and Dye will bring the No. 43 entry back to the Statesville, North Carolina team in the upcoming season. Dye has primarily driven No. 43 cars as he's climbed the racing ranks, paying homage to NASCAR legend Richard Petty.
Dye most recently completed his first full-time season in the ARCA Menards Series, where he drove the GMS Racing entry to a runner-up finish in season points, as well as earning Bounty Rookie of the Year, and Bill France CGS Imaging 4 Crown Champion honors. Dye with GMS collected 13
top-five and 17 top-ten finishes in the 2022 campaign led by crew chief Chad Bryant. In 2021, Daniel drove for GMS in a limited schedule, and picked up a win at Berlin Raceway.
"I am really thankful for the opportunity to drive the No. 43 Chevrolet Silverado RST for GMS Racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2023," remarked 18-year-old competitor Daniel Dye. "GMS Racing, their partners and staff, are the best in the business, and to drive their Chevy trucks next season is something that I've dreamed of for a long time. I'm counting down the days to coming back here at Daytona to race under the lights."
The Deland, Florida driver began racing quarter midgets at nearby New Smyrna Speedway, and then nationwide to countless victories and championships. Following quarter midgets, Daniel made the leap to late model competition with Ben Kennedy Racing, where he still competes in the No. 43 Chevy SS super late model.
Dye will make his first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start under the lights at the World Center of Racing, Daytona International Speedway, on Friday, February 17. That event, along with all 23 NASCAR Truck Series races can be followed live on FS1, the Motor Racing Network, and SiriusXM.
Additional announcements pertaining to Dye's pursuit of Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors in his No. 43 GMS Racing Chevrolet can be found on Daniel's various social media platforms, as well as through GMS Racing. Partnership opportunities remain available for the budding NASCAR star, and inquiries should be directed to Daniel Dye Racing manager Kevin Striegle.
